Blog 3: Nutrients


LIPIDS:The body uses fats, or lipids,to produce cell membranes, myelin sheaths, and certain homones. Fatty acidsalso help the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins.
     









PROTEINS:Supply raw materials for growth and repair of structures such as skin and muscle. They have regulatory and transport functions.










CARBOHYDRATES:Are the main source of energy for the body.












VITAMINS:Are organic molecules that help regulate body processes, often working with enzymes.










MINERALS:Are inorganic nutrients that the body needs in small amounts.
